The Government of Djibouti hosted the regional consultative workshop was to support IGAD member states to effectively and technically prepare for the 2023 Global Refugee Forum to be held in Geneva, Switzerland in December 2023.
The workshop held 4th and 5th April in Djibouti Ville, Djibouti, aimed at engaging member states of IGAD on the preparation and participation in the 2023 Global Refugee Forum (GRF). This also entailed drawing roadmaps at and identifying pledges towards the GRF at Member State level. The GRF is scheduled to take place from December 12th to December 15th, 2023.
Organized under the auspices of the IGAD Support Platform on Forced Displacement and with support from its Core Group Members, delegates evaluated the implementation status of prior pledges and commitments, highlighting best practices across the region, assessed the potential for a mega joint pledge and took time to review and validate the GRF Roadmap for the IGAD Support Platform.
